Aditya Dipta Anindita (Indit) co-founded Sokola Institute in 2003, just a year after earning her bachelor's degree in Sociology from Gadjah Mada University. In 2006, she completed a master's degree in Communication Studies from Universitas Indonesia, all while actively serving the community with Sokola. From 2012 to 2022, she served as principal of Sokola Rimba, and assisted the Orang Rimba in doing advocacy. Indit was key in laying the groundwork for Sokola's management and campaigns, and she remains at the forefront of leading these initiatives today. Her outstanding contributions were recognized in 2016 when she received the Distinguished Alumni Award from Gadjah Mada University.
In addition to her work with Sokola, Indit has held professional roles as a journalist in both local and national media and worked as a communication consultant for the National Development Planning Agency (Bappenas). Currently, she is pursuing a doctoral degree in Rural Sociology at IPB University, Bogor, where her research critically explores the social transformations faced by the Orang Rimba due to ecological changes caused by extractive development and conservation policies. Through her research, she continues her lifelong commitment to social justice and indigenous rights advocacy.
