Fadilla Mutiarawati
Fadilla is a doctoral candidate in Educational Science at the University of Oulu, Finland, specializing in integrating indigenous knowledge into formal education. Her research conducts participatory action research with teachers in the Hodana community in West Sumba, East Nusa Tenggara, to co-develop culturally relevant learning modules. Fadilla also holds a Master's in Education and Globalization from the University of Oulu. Her thesis is about developing education programs with marginalized communities in Indonesia.
Beyond academia, she has worked extensively with children and youth in a fishing village in Makassar, where she facilitated research and creative projects, including films, books, and theater performances focused on environmental themes. With over six years of experience teaching humanities to 7th–12th-grade students, Fadilla has also pioneered transdisciplinary mini-research projects as an integrated subject, encouraging students to explore diverse topics and apply their learning in meaningful ways.
