Wahyu, commonly known as Lunk, has been actively involved in social and environmental movements since high school. Alongside participating in nature-lover organizations and the punk collective movement from school through university, he has also dedicated himself to supporting forest village communities. Independently, he has accompanied climate-conscious organic farming groups and community-based tourism initiatives in several regencies in Central Java, including Temanggung, Wonosobo, Magelang, and Purworejo.
In 2012, he joined Sokola Institute through the Sokola Rimba program, which later continued into Sokola Asmat and currently Hakola Huba. At present, he is developing the Hakola Huba literacy program in collaboration with formal schools, while adapting the learning approach to the rich cultural traditions and customs of Sumba.
For Lunk, education is not only about providing safe and comfortable learning spaces, but also about nurturing children’s confidence in their own culture so that it never fades away.
